Regimental and Patronage Registers

A selection of registers that reflect Prince Albert’s (1819-61) involvement with military service nominations, charitable donations and appointments to establishments including the Royal Household.

Included are two registers that detail nominations for individuals into specific regiments in the military including the Scots Fusilier Guards, the Grenadier Guards and the Rifle Brigade. There is also a register that records the institutions and charities to which Prince Albert and Queen Victoria (1819-1901) donated money as well as appointments to establishments including the Royal Household. This register additionally contains several leaflets relating to various charities and institutions, providing a deeper insight into those that Prince Albert and Queen Victoria supported.
