JOHN JABEZ EDWIN MAYALL (1813-1901)

Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII (1841-1910)

9 - 9 Nov 1858

RCIN 2083630

Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of the Prince of Wales standing, facing slightly to the right and looking to the camera. The prince wears a military uniform with a sash across his torso. He holds a plumed hat in one hand and a sword in the other.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900150.
