Albert and Victoria’s collection of glass plate negatives show photographers’ working methods

Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales standing, facing slightly to the right and gazing directly at the viewer. He wears civilian clothing, an holds a top hat in his right hand and an umbrella in his right. Part of a covered table is visible on the far right. 

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2915726.
