Following Albert’s premature death, Victoria commissioned the creation of photographs and decorative objects that memorialised her beloved husband

    Photograph of Queen Victoria's Bedroom, in the Private Apartments, Windsor Castle. In the room there is a half-tester bed with a knitted square blanket on top, a bedside cabinet with a bell, and a sofa with cushions at the foot of the bed that is partially obscured. A cross and pictures hang on the wall, one of which is a portrait of Princess Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg (1797-1862) by Cordon (RCIN 407130). There is an open door with view into the next room on the left of the photograph.
