    'Stag's head'

    c. 1858

    RCIN 2083073

Glass plate negative of a daguerreotype placed on a wooden board. The image depicts the head of a stag positioned on wooden planks The stag's head faces slightly to the left.

The negative has been masked out, indicating the photographer's intention to crop the work to the smaller frame.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. The original daguerreotype as well as prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
