Glass plate negative of a full length double portrait of Princess Helena and Princess Louise. Princess Louise stands, facing three-quarters to the left. She places one hand on her sister's shoulder and holds a flower in the other hand. Princess Helena is seated, facing three-quarters to the right. She looks down at a book she holds open with one hand, positioning the book in front of her chest. The sisters are dressed in a similar fashion.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2900360.
