Albert and Victoria’s collection of glass plate negatives show photographers’ working methods

      WILLIAM BAMBRIDGE (1819-79)

      Elk in Widnsor Great Park

      c. 1854

      RCIN 2083069

Glass plate negative of an elk sourrounded by a herd of white deer. The photograph was taken in Windsor Great Park.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant is represented by RCIN 2800708.
