Letter from the Prince Consort to Lord John Russell reporting that the Queen readily sanctions the honour of C.B. [Companions of the Order of the Bath] of Mr Lock and Mr Wade and regrets that it has come so late. The Queen has also reminded Lord Palmerston that Lord Elgin is yet to be rewarded, while everyone else on the expedition had received something in acknowledgment of their services.
