A facsimile of a drawing by Raphael (c.1509) now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no.WA1846.191). Lettered with title and production details. Published in W.Y. Ottley's 'Italian School of Design', London 1823.

The two figures ascending/descending steps appear (with slight changes) in the right half of Raphael's 'School of Athens'. The sketch of the screaming head is for the Medusa head on Minerva's shield at upper right in the fresco.
