The temple was originally built in the 3rd or 4th century BC but then rebuilt between 120–80 BC: it is one of the best preserved Roman temples. See also RCIN 854628 for an engraving by Nicolas Beatrizet which was published in the Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae (the "Mirror of Roman Magnificence"), a collection of maps and prints that depicted major monuments and antiquities in Rome.
