Portrait of a Girl

Crayon-manner, printed in brown ink | RCIN 852006

A crayon-manner engraving after a drawing by Raphael (c.1507) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.3882). It has been suggested that the drawing may be a preparatory study for the 'Portrait of a Girl' now in the Galleria Borghese, Rome, a photograph of which (before restoration) can be found at RCIN 852007. Lettered with production details and stamped with blind stamp of the Chalcographie du Louvre (variant of Lugt 1695).
