    Photograph of Sir William Fenwick Williams (1800-83) and Sir Christopher Charles Teesdale (1833-93). Sir Williams is seated to the left holding a hat with a feather plume in his right hand and a sword in his left. Sir Teesdale is standing to the right holding a sword in his left hand. Both are wearing military uniform and wearing medals. This photograph, printed by Jabez Hughes in 1883, is a carbon print pasted over the original photograph.

    Sir William Fenwick Williams commanded the Turkish troops at the defence of the town of Kars during the Crimean War. Sir Christopher Charles Teesdale was his aide-de-camp during the attack. Both were subsequently rewarded for their bravery.
