      Photograph of the town of Ballater in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, as viewed from the south with Ballater bridge spanning the River Dee in the foreground. The wooden bridge in this photograph was replaced by one constructed from granite in 1885. In the centre of the photograph is the old parish church and the Victoria Barracks built in 1860, can be seen in the top left of the photograph.
